exhaling sleep
lifted smoke rings from Couch’s elbow nook
agreeing deep said
matter’s only organized voids
matter doesn’t
matter doesn’t
matter doesn’t—
drifting breathe melted into each
and dreamed in babbling steam
What is the Stantonian Association of Interesting People?
My friends, this blog is dedicated to those men and women who go out of their way to be remarkably interesting. In other words, all of those fascinating Stanton students (or, in the rarest of cases, students from other schools) can join this blog to appreciate creative writing developed by us students. I, Braden Beaudreau, the creator of this blog, will post my past, present, and future works on this website, and those who join and comment will get the same opportunities. May all of you live in happiness and peace, and never forget: being interesting is the only way to stand out from the masses.

Internal rhyme and alliteration are my favorite lovers (at the same time). I really like the last part!
ReplyDeleteLooked up centriole unsuccessfully.
ahahahahaha "centriole" is a completely insane inside joke, although it is a part of an animal cell that functions in meiosis. I have a penchant for inside jokes...needless to say, its unrelatedness is its contribution to the meaning of the poem. Nothing makes sense.
ReplyDeleteSo it's like a--wait, maybe I get it. Also my first thought was "rabbit hole," which isn't too far off really.
