Words drip from your lips like molasses
Tainted with sucrose gone rotten,
As saline solution gathers upon my eyelashes,
Recalling memories that you’ve forgotten.
Remember the days when you were vulnerable?
When you weren’t afraid to show me your fear?
You were honest then, brave, incredible…
Funny how things have changed in two years.
I was the one by your side then,
Your personal shield from all things awful.
I was the one who picked you up when
Society declared your happiness unlawful.
Our laughter, our tears, our words filled the air,
Two friendly companions, smack-talking over a game:
You were the one I relied on, the one with whom I’d share…
But my phone never rings anymore; really, it’s just a shame.
The moments just keep flying by,
But I have yet to hear your voice.
You opted not to hear me cry,
Now live with that regrettable choice.
I always thought I’d stay and wait,
Figured my time would come someday…
Well, now it’s getting a bit too late,
And my faith has eroded away.
Come search for me when you begin to stumble,
Try to find me when you’re lost.
Then realize you let us crumble,
And didn’t have the decency to watch.
Your excuses no longer ring sweetly in my ears,
Your time is too precious to waste on me.
Now I’ve had it with doubt, confusion, and fear:
Some best friend you turned out to be…
What is the Stantonian Association of Interesting People?
My friends, this blog is dedicated to those men and women who go out of their way to be remarkably interesting. In other words, all of those fascinating Stanton students (or, in the rarest of cases, students from other schools) can join this blog to appreciate creative writing developed by us students. I, Braden Beaudreau, the creator of this blog, will post my past, present, and future works on this website, and those who join and comment will get the same opportunities. May all of you live in happiness and peace, and never forget: being interesting is the only way to stand out from the masses.
