Waiting impatiently next to a gate,
Thinking of you and your absence. Fearing
The worst, time aging slowly, so late, late
Is the hour. Hold; What am I hearing?
A shout in the distance, over the hill,
Beaming brown eyes and a smile so wide,
We ran to each other, oh, what a thrill!
She caught my eye and I caught her in stride.
There is that moment of undying bliss.
Synchronized hearts, with the order of ants.
And then like a switch, emotions amiss,
Some words, a leaving, a glance - not a chance.
Why, how could such a glorious meeting
Be joyous and tender, yet so fleeting?
What is the Stantonian Association of Interesting People?
My friends, this blog is dedicated to those men and women who go out of their way to be remarkably interesting. In other words, all of those fascinating Stanton students (or, in the rarest of cases, students from other schools) can join this blog to appreciate creative writing developed by us students. I, Braden Beaudreau, the creator of this blog, will post my past, present, and future works on this website, and those who join and comment will get the same opportunities. May all of you live in happiness and peace, and never forget: being interesting is the only way to stand out from the masses.
This is the first poem I ever wrote in high school. A structured sonnet, and in general, a pretty good job in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteQue?
I wrote this a while ago.. It's a sonnet, so I was looking for a rhyme with chance. Ants, coincidentally, are orderly animals. Get it?
ReplyDeleteNow I do.
