Decisions come and decisions go
But really they are forever.
This the mind does not percieve
Until after you've pulled the lever.
For when you engage your mind
In what your heart proposes,
There is no way to foresee
A sight of thorns or roses.
In this instant you transform
Into something that is not you,
Rather a dangerous beast,
An emotionally logic brew.
Proportions are naturally tipped
To that side or to this,
But no matter the rations within
Intentions always run amiss.
It is difficult to prevent,
That is for man at least,
(Nor his counterpart either,
In which this process does not cease).
For he is unstable even
In times of great composure,
Because lowly, lustful greed
Can find no satisfying closure.
It is only after this wild time does exhaust
That we find what we have done, and find what we have lost.
What is the Stantonian Association of Interesting People?
My friends, this blog is dedicated to those men and women who go out of their way to be remarkably interesting. In other words, all of those fascinating Stanton students (or, in the rarest of cases, students from other schools) can join this blog to appreciate creative writing developed by us students. I, Braden Beaudreau, the creator of this blog, will post my past, present, and future works on this website, and those who join and comment will get the same opportunities. May all of you live in happiness and peace, and never forget: being interesting is the only way to stand out from the masses.
I like the hindsight is 20/20 theme. The second stanza is my favorite
ReplyDeleteIt seems thematically complex to me, which I like. I like the second to the last stanza. The line about "man's counterpart" I think could use a little work. Sounds like a filler line in a poem in which everything means something important to the theme of the piece. Otherwise a very good poem.
